Using Education to Connect Cultures and Change Lives

Lara Tseng believes education can change the direction of a person’s life. This belief has guided her work across different countries, cultures, and communities for many years. Through her platform, Laraglobalpedia, she has created learning experiences that help children understand the world beyond their own surroundings.

Her work spans cities such as Taipei, Moscow, Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Dubai. Along the way, she developed an approach that combines multilingual storytelling, geography, and cultural understanding. For Lara, education is not only about information. It is about helping young people build awareness, empathy, and confidence in a global society.

In 2023, she launched the Small School Support Project, later registered in Taiwan as the Taiwan International Refugee Education Support Association. The initiative focuses on supporting Syrian refugees and disadvantaged youth through education. It provides learning resources and financial support to hundreds of students and teachers in refugee and displaced communities across Syria and Türkiye.

Lara’s work is deeply personal. She believes access to education should not depend on where a child is born or the circumstances they face. Her mission is to help create fairer opportunities and stronger connections between communities. She often describes herself as a bridge between cultures and worlds.

Beyond education, she is also involved in humanitarian efforts that support women and children. In Türkiye, she has worked on projects that help Syrian refugee women build financial independence and share their stories through creative initiatives, including fashion-focused programs.

Her advocacy for women’s empowerment also extends into media. Through her award-winning podcast series, #HerStoryYourStory, Lara highlights the experiences of women who have created meaningful change in different fields. The podcast received the Best Women Empower Podcast award in 2023, recognizing her efforts to amplify important voices and stories.

What stands out in Lara’s work is her belief in resilience. She often speaks about the strength and potential of people facing difficult circumstances. Her message is direct and hopeful. Education can create opportunity, but people must also believe in their ability to move forward.

Today, Lara Tseng continues to work across education, empowerment, and humanitarian support. Her efforts reflect a simple but powerful idea. When knowledge, compassion, and opportunity come together, lives can change for the better.
