Dr. Marlene N. Mahipat, DC, M.Sc., C.Ad. | Bridging Science and Compassion for Integrative Healing
“Healing is most effective when it moves beyond symptom relief to become a transformative force that restores the body, brain, and nervous system.”
While the world thinks Healthcare is a clinical practice. It is beyond that for Dr. Marlene, it is an intentional, comprehensive approach to restoring human function, resilience, mobility, and long-term well-being. Through a unique blend of neuromodulation, rehabilitation science, holistic care, and non-opioid therapeutic strategies.
Her journey is rooted in perseverance and purpose, beginning in Trinidad before she immigrated to the United States with only two suitcases and $300. While working three jobs and pursuing full-time studies, she built a path distinguished by academic achievement and clinical excellence. Dr. Mahipat’s professional expertise is broad, spanning integrative pain management, dry needling, nervous system regulation, and functional movement therapy. She is particularly recognized for her leadership in multidisciplinary care models and lifestyle-based wellness interventions.
A significant focus of Dr. Mahipat’s clinical and educational work centers on Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) technology and recovery science. She trained extensively for nearly a decade under the mentorship of William Pawluk, internationally recognized authority on PEMF therapy and author of Power Tools for Health: How Pulsed Magnetic Fields (PEMFs) Help You and Supercharge Your Health: Supercharge Your Health with PEMF Therapy. Through this advanced training, Dr. Mahipat developed specialized expertise in the therapeutic application of PEMF technology to support nervous system regulation, recovery optimization, pain management, and whole-body wellness.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Mahipat is a dedicated philanthropist. In 2006, she founded Helping Orphans Prosper Everywhere (H.O.P.E.) to mentor vulnerable children and families. Her commitment to animal welfare led to the creation of P.L.E.A.S.E., a foundation that prevents the unnecessary euthanization of healthy animals and assists low-income pet owners with veterinary costs.
Her impact has earned her numerous prestigious honors, including being a three-time recipient of the Health Care Heroes Physician of the Year Award and the Baltimore County Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Hero Award. Whether through clinical care, nonprofit leadership, or her board positions with organizations like the Girl Scouts of Central Maryland, Dr. Mahipat continues to bridge science and compassion to empower communities to thrive.
